Ever since I was at school, I loved the exact sciences, especially chemistry, and mathematics. Once I had to choose what to major in, I knew I wanted it to be something that would allow me to broaden my knowledge in both subjects. As in any new venture, the difference between school and university was great, even shocking. I had questions like:
- Will I make it?
- Will I be able to continue my development?
- Will this program benefit me in the long run?
- Will it be hard to find a job after I graduate?
- Can I find a job related to my studies?
And, of course, many others…
I got lucky – I made a good impression on my professors and started working in the Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering, which was probably the most important step in my life (at least until this very moment). Starting my internship helped me see the clear connection between theory and practice! Because of my work in the department, I was able to participate in projects with renowned companies such as Saint Gobain, Weber, Wacker, Unilever, etc. I had access to world-class laboratories with a wide range of specialized equipment that few other places in the world accommodate. During my undergraduate studies, I also had the opportunity to participate in two international science conferences (one in Crete, Greece, and the other in Naples, Italy).
These experiences convinced me that choosing this program was the right decision and showed me that Bulgaria provides plenty of opportunities for people to do science!
That is why I made the natural choice to continue my studies by pursuing a master’s degree, and then a doctorate in chemical sciences.
If you have any questions, be it about the program or the job, don’t hesitate to turn to me!
