Teaching module
Students of the Chemical Engineering and Contemporary Materials program of the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy have the opportunity to enroll and attend completely free of charge the so-called teaching module. Enrollment takes place in the second year of study.
The teaching module includes several courses preparing future teachers for their work with students, including Pedagogy, Psychology, Methodology of teaching chemistry, Methodology and technique of educational chemical experiment, and others. The practical exercises within the "Teaching" module include test preparation, methodology development for conducting chemistry lessons, and the performance of demonstration laboratory experiments. Students are taught the current curriculum prepared by the Ministry of Education and Culture, as well as the current requirements for training in the school stage of education.
The training ends with a practical internship at school (Pre-diploma Pedagogical Practice), taking place in the last year of the bachelor's studies. During the internship, students prepare and conduct chemistry lessons with students under the guidance and supervision of a senior teacher.
The schedule of the courses from the "Teaching" module is in accordance with the courses from the specialization and are held in the students' free time. The training continues until the completion of the Chemical Engineering and Contemporary Materials bachelor's studies, and upon successfully passing the exams - the students who chose to attend the teaching module receive an additional qualification, allowing them to teach in schools on the subjects "Chemistry and Environmental Protection" and "Human and Nature".
